Who Should Attend the Festival?

For children, parents, grandparents, educators, librarians and anyone else who enjoys children’s literature. Celebrating Stories A Family Festival provides all with a unique opportunity to spend time with authors, illustrators and storytellers.

Is there a fee to attend the Festival?

Thanks to the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, our local partners and community and business sponsors we are able to offer the Festival at NO COST.

Donations are gladly accepted. A donation box is on site should you wish to financially support the Festival.

Will there be musical entertainment?

Yes, we are delighted to have Sonshine and Broccoli performing at the Festival this year. Check the schedule to see when/where they are performing.

Is the facility wheel chair accessible?

Yes, Milton Centre for the Arts is fully accessible. An elevator is available to assist families with wheelchairs or strollers to the 2nd floor.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes, but space in the venue is limited and they are not permitted in the presentation rooms of the MinMaxx Hall. It is highly recommended that caregivers ‘wear’ their infants.

Will there be an opportunity to meet the authors and get autographs?

Yes, most presenters will be available for book signing after their presentations.

Can I take photographs?

Most of the authors have agreed to allow photos. Please check with Festival planners to confirm.

Can I buy books or other material at the Festival?

Yes, a book vendor will be on site. Books written and/or illustrated by our featured presenters will be available to purchase.

Will there be a sign language interpreter on site?

Yes, a sign language interpreter will be available to assist members of the deaf community.
